Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), one of the most followed franchises on social media, have retained their core group for the forthcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). With INR 8.75 crore left in their purse, they may look to add some talented youngsters to their squad at the upcoming IPL 2023 Auction.

In the meantime, former South Africa international and RCB veteran AB de Villiers has opined that the Faf du Plessis-led side could win successive IPL titles if they somehow manage to get the first one.

“It’s been how many seasons now? Quite a few, 14 or 15 or whatever. So, they would love to break the shackles. I think if RCB wins this one then, they’ll probably win two, three, four quickly but let’s wait and see what happens,” De Villiers said in a video shared by Star Sports India on Twitter.

While talking about his playing days in the RCB jersey, De Villiers got nostalgic. Walking down memory lane, he said, “RCB meant the world to me. It changed my life since I joined them back in 2011.”

Referring to his special bonding with former RCB skipper Virat Kohli, Mr 360 asserted: “I have made friends for life. They are parts of me and my family. We are RCBians.”

He further asked RCB fans to mark their presence at the stadium and cheer for the boys. “To my RCB family, Ee sala cup namde,” De Villiers added with a smile.

It is no secret who @ABdeVilliers17 will be cheering for this year!#RCB fans, are you ready to chant Ee Sala Cup Namde with him?? pic.twitter.com/sf5fCYJmju

The 38-year-old Proteas star, who has been named as the inaugural inductee into the RCB Hall of Fame alongside Chris Gayle, is set to join the RCB camp in a new role.

Last week, he visited Bengaluru and confirmed the development. However, what his assignment will be, still remains under wrap.
