Shami asserted his commitment to intense training, claiming that he lifts heavier weights than any other cricketer in the gym. Despite not sharing his workouts on social media, he revealed his ability to perform a remarkable 750 kg leg press.

“No other cricketer lifts heavier weights than me in the gym; I don’t like to post on social media so people don’t know. I can do a 750KG leg press,” said Mohammed Shami during a conversation with Aaj Tak.

Shami’s ODI World Cup 2023 performance​


Shami emerged as the standout performer in the recently ended ODI World Cup 2023, securing the position of the leading wicket-taker with an impressive tally of 24 wickets in merely seven matches. His stellar performances featured three five-wicket hauls, including a remarkable display in the semi-final against New Zealand, where he achieved a career-best bowling figure of 7 wickets for a mere 57 runs. The 33-year-old is a pivotal part of IPL franchise Gujarat Titans and is expected to lead their bowling attack in IPL 2024.
