There is no denying in saying that Gayle’s six-hitting prowess has made him one of the most feared and entertaining batters in the game. But who can come close to Gayle’s splendid six-hitting abilities? Well, the Caribbean cricketer has himself picked an Indian superstar who can match his dexterity.
Gayle reckoned that Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is going to hit a lot of maximums and is currently the closest player to match his own six-hitting prowess. The Caribbean giant made an astute observation that Rohit is a player of immense class and observed that the Mumbaikar would eventually attain legendary status in the game.
“These days, even smaller guys hitting sixes. The game is pretty much changing. The stroke players hitting sixes as well. We have the hitman Rohit Sharma. Im sure hes gonna hit a lot of sixes and hes gonna be up here with the universe boss for sure. He is a closest guy to me right now and he is currently playing as well so Im sure one day he will get that for sure. Rohit is a quality class player and he is gonna be a legend as well,” said Gayle while speaking to Sanjana Ganesan in an ICC video.
Gayle also expressed his thoughts on the emerging talents who are set to raise the bar in terms of hitting maximums. He specifically mentioned Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Brandon King, highlighting their exceptional potential. According to Gayle, these individuals possess the brightest futures and are expected to make a significant impact with their batting abilities.
“We see some youngsters, Shubman Gill, Jaiswal, those guys look very very impressive. And I like what Im seeing with those guys as well. Brandon King is one for the future as well coming from the West Indies. Those guys can stamp their authority, keep building their career, keep growing their game as well,” added Gayle.
