In a heartwarming gesture of appreciation, Mr. Jay Shah, the President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has announced a substantial reward for the unsung heroes of cricket – the curators and groundsmen who played a pivotal role in the success of the Asia Cup 2023.

Braving rain disruptions​


The Asia Cup 2023, hosted in Sri Lanka, was marred by frequent disruptions due to rain, posing significant challenges for both teams and organizers alike. Despite these adversities, the ground staff and curators exhibited relentless dedication and commitment to ensure that the playing surfaces were in prime condition as soon as the rain clouds dispersed.

USD 50,000 prize money​


Impressed by their unwavering efforts, the ACC has decided to bestow a significant cash prize of USD 50,000 upon the pitch curators and groundsmen responsible for maintaining the cricketing venues in Kandy and Colombo.
