The upcoming third Ashes Test between England and Australia is set to take place at Headingley Cricket Ground in Leeds from July 6 to July 10. Australia currently hold a 2-0 lead in the series, having won the previous Test matches in Birmingham and London.

In the second Test, Australia batted first and scored 416 runs in their first innings, with notable contributions from Steve Smith (110) and David Warner (66 ). England responded with a total of 325 runs. In the second innings, Australia added 279 runs, with Usman Khawaja scoring 77. England fought back with 327 runs but fell short, resulting in Australia’s victory. Mitchell Starc was the standout bowler for Australia, taking six wickets during the match.

With two wins in two games, Australia currently hold the advantage in the series. The previous two Tests at the Edgbaston and Lord’s provided exciting action and went down to the wire. To stage a comeback and keep the series alive, England will need to be fearless and aggressive from the beginning. The task ahead is daunting, but they have the opportunity to turn the tide in the upcoming Test at Headingley.

Pitch Report:

Headingley Cricket Stadium in Leeds, England, is known for its batting-friendly pitches. The surface generally provides good support for batters, especially as the game progresses. In the early overs of an innings, the pitch may offer some assistance to the pacers, allowing them to generate bounce and movement. As the match progresses and the pitch settles, it tends to become more favorable for batting. The true bounce and even pace of the pitch make it conducive for stroke play, enabling batsmen to score runs more freely.

Probable XI:

England: Ben Stokes (c), Jonny Bairstow (wk), Harry Brook, Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Moeen Ali, Ollie Robinson, Joe Root, Stuart Broad, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood.

Australia: David Warner, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Cameron Green, Alex Carey (wk), Pat Cummins (c), Todd Murphy, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood.
