Khawaja, widely respected as one of the most beloved figures in cricket, displayed exceptional batting prowess, scoring a remarkable 141 runs before being bowled by Robinson. However, it was Robinson’s post-wicket behavior that drew attention and condemnation from both fans and experts.
Right after removing Khawaja, the right-arm pacer was captured on camera unleashing a verbally aggressive outburst, shouting expletives directly at the departing batter. The offensive language used by Robinson, including profanities and derogatory terms, has been widely criticized for its lack of sportsmanship and disrespect towards the opposition.

Robinson went on to claim the wickets of Nathan Lyon and Pat Cummins, contributing to Australia’s total of 386 runs as they trailed England by a margin of seven runs. Earlier on the third day, Australia had resumed their innings at 311/5, with Khawaja leading their recovery from a precarious position of 67/3. Additionally, James Anderson, who had remained wicketless on the previous day, provided the first breakthrough by breaching the defenses of Alex Carey and dismissing him for 66 runs. Carey had been instrumental in forming a valuable 118-run partnership with Khawaja.
Here is how fans reacted:
What an absurd and sick send-off from Ollie Robinson to a guy who made a classy 141. Great ball, poor follow-up.#Ashes #ENGvAUS #ENGvsAUS pic.twitter.com/lIF0b6JkrU

Pretty sure the spray Ollie Robinson just gave Usman Khawaja wouldn't have gone unnoticed by the Aussie dressing room! Especially from a bloke bowling 125k pies who bowled off-spin in speed-dealers 18 months ago! #TheAshes #ENGvAUS

Ollie Robinson showing real class by telling a bloke who just made 141 runs to "fuck off" after getting him out. Sportsmanship at it's best. What an absolute bell end! #Flog #Ashes23

Joe Root gives Ollie Robinson an abject lesson in sportsmanship. Just after Ollie tells Usman to “f**k off”, Joe goes out of his way to congratulate Khawaja on his innings. Class act. #AUSvsENG

ollie robinson looks like one of those blokes who does europa league away, mouths off after two pints and gets absolutely canned by an umbrella in the center of the piazza by a fiorentina ultra

Ollie Robinson giving Usman a big send off… unnecessary, silly, weak, unsportsmanlike, over the top
Or all of the above ?
— Adrian Barich (@adrianbarich) June 18, 2023
Ollie Robinson spraying Khawaja on 141 is interesting for a bloke who bowls 126kph pies and resorted to bowling off spin because he wasn't fit enough to maintain a fast bowlers workload in Australia 18 months ago.
What an absolute egg head

Ollie Robinson tells Usman to fuck off twice after he's just made 140!!
— Lachlan Mosley (@BlackBookRacing) June 18, 2023
Absolutely classless from Ollie Robinson. The lad has scored a wonderful 141 and he feels the need to tell him to fuck off? Maybe if you hadn’t been bowling at 68-69mph you might have got him earlier.
