Like always, MS Dhoni won the toss and opted to bat. The decision, however, as the Super Kings lost consecutive wickets courtesy of a sensational bowling display from the Knight Riders’ bowling attack.
Veteran spinner Sunil Narine was the standout performer with the ball as he returned with incredible figures to put brakes on CSK’s run-scoring momentum. Narine came up with a top show and bagged two wickets in a single over. It all happened in the 11th over when the right-arm tweaker dismissed Ambati Rayudu and Moeen Ali.
Narine got rid of Moeen on the very first ball. He delivered in a flat and straight manner, and Rayudu attempted a sweep shot but missed it completely as the ball hit the top of off stump. This also marked Narine’s first wicket since April 29th.
Narine just didn’t stop there as on the final delivery of his over he showcased his vintage avatar to get rid of Moeen. The experienced campaigner came up with a sensational carrom ball which Moeen played for the turn and got beaten on the inside edge as the white leather destroyed the timber.
