A few people have pointed out that the government’s hardline and rapid response to the Super League is in stark contrast to previous decisions.

Hard not to reflect that Boris Johnson's very public intervention in meetings about the Football Super League are a contrast with his dilatory attitude at the beginning of the pandemic.

Education Secretary Gavin Williamson says the Super League will destroy the core element of football that is – competition.

Says it was "dreamed up by money men".
