As fears about the Indian variant grow, this is an interesting decision from the government.

Shapps confirms he’s pushing for green list to be expanded at next review: “That list should expand yes”. But pleads for patience.

8:35am – As exciting as these new announcements are, don’t expect them to come into practice any time soon:

Grant Shapps fuzzy on when train fares might actually get cheaper due to his Great British Railways shake-up. Tells BBC "there'll be no instant changes" and it's a "multi-year" project.
