It is the first Test of the English summer and Ben Stokes’ team will look to start on a winning note.
Ireland, who made their Test debut in 2018, haven’t played too many red-ball games since then. The Irish men toured England once in 2019 for a one-off Test, where the tourists faced a 143-run defeat. Though the Ireland pacers bundled out the home team for a paltry 85 on the opening day, the Irish batters surrendered on just 38 in the second innings.
