After a one- month break following the WTC 2023 final, the Indian cricket team will set foot on the field. This break was one of the longest periods of rest that Team India have had in recent years, considering their typically busy and demanding international schedule. In addition to the inclusion of promising youngsters like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Mukesh Kumar in the Test squad, the West Indies series also marks the comeback of a senior player. Veteran Indian pacer Ishant Sharma, who has been phased out of the Test team, will return to the fold, but in a different role – as a commentator.

Notably, the Indian team will be playing their first Test match against West Indies on Wednesday, July 12, at Windsor Park in Dominica.
