Gill had begun well in his first county stint scoring 92 against Worcestershire and then scoring 22 and 11 against Middlesex. In what will be his final appearance for Glamorgan this year, Gill brought up his first century in the English first-class competition against Sussex at County Ground, Hove, on Tuesday (September 27).
The right-handed batter was eventually dismissed for 119 off 139 – sixteen fours and two sixes. So far, Gill has scored 244 runs in three games at an average of 61.

Apart from Gill, wicketkeeper-batter Chris Cooke also shined with the bat, smashing 141 runs off 165 balls – 14 fours and two sixes. Riding on Gill and Cooke’s incredible knocks, Glamargon declared their first innings at 533/9 after 106.2 overs.
For Sussex, Bradley Currie (3/109) and Sean Hunt (3/84) picked up three wickets each. Similarly, Jack Carson bagged a couple of scalps for 101 in 19 overs.
