Andre Dwayne Russell was born on 29 April 1988 in Jamaica.
Russell made his Test debut for West Indies in 2010 and has played only one Test in his career.
His ODI debut came in the 2011 Cricket World Cup in a match against Ireland in Mohali.
Russell’s first appearance in T20Is also came in the same year against Pakistan, where he got out for a duck.
In 2013 he became the first bowler to take four wickets on four consecutive deliveries in a match against India A.
The all-rounder was bought for $450,000 by Delhi Daredevils in the 2012 IPL players’ auction.
Later Kolkata Knight Riders acquired his services ahead of the 2014 IPL edition.
In 2014, Russell also began a second career as a recording artist under the name ‘Dre Russ’.
The Jamaican cricketer married American model Jassym Lora in 2016, and the couple are parents to a daughter.
Russell has played over 400 T20 matches and is one of the two players to score a century and take a hat-trick in the same match.
