Rehan Ahmed’s base price and reason behind withdrawal
As per the ESPNcricinfo report, the young leg spinner, who had initially listed his base price as INR 50 lakh, has withdrawn from the auction at short notice. The report further disclosed that Rehan is scheduled to be in India early next year for a five-Test series, prompting the England Cricket Board (ECB) to prioritize his well-being by minimizing prolonged periods away from home at this young age.

ECB’s stance on player availability: Emphasis on fitness and international duty
The report additionally stated that the ECB has provided assurance that England players will be available for the IPL 2024 auction, subject to international duty. However, the final decision on individual players’ availability will be determined by Managing Director of England Men’s Cricket, Rob Key. Key will assess the readiness of players based on preparations for the 2024 T20 World Cup, scheduled to take place from June 4-30 in the West Indies and the United States of America (USA)
