India’s last triumph in an ICC tournament came in 2013 when they clinched the Champions Trophy against England under the leadership of MS Dhoni. However, the team now needs to put aside this disappointment and shift their focus to the upcoming 2023-25 WTC cycle.
Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, Team India will kick off the new WTC cycle with a tour of the West Indies, where they will play two Test matches. This series will be followed by a tour of South Africa, where India will compete in two Tests from December 2023 to January 2024.
Returning to their home turf, India will host England for a gruelling five-match Test series in January and February 2024. This contest against England promises to be a thrilling battle, as both teams boast formidable line-ups.
Continuing their home campaign, India will then welcome Bangladesh for a two-Test series scheduled for September-October 2024. Following Bangladesh’s visit, New Zealand will embark on a tour of India, where they will compete in three Test matches in October and November 2024.
A significant highlight of Team India’s WTC 2023-25 itinerary is their tour of Australia. As part of the prestigious Border-Gavaskar Trophy, India will lock horns with the Aussies in a five-match Test series from November 2024 to January 2025.
