As far as England’s bowlers are concerned, Stuart Broad’s high class performance at Lord’s against Ireland has pushed him into the top 10 on the latest Test bowling rankings. Claiming 5/51 and 1/62 across two innings in the one-off test, Broad jumped two places to 10th (744 rating points), joining teammates James Anderson (2nd, 850) and Ollie Robinson (7th, 777) in the top 10 list.
Meanwhile, Broad’s fellow Englishman Ollie Pope has also gained some points from the only Test against the Irish side. Pope celebrated a double century at the iconic venue of Lord’s and rosed ten places to 23rd (637). Ben Duckett, also from England, moved to 34th (up eight spots) with a rating of 602 in Test batting rankings.
In the ODI rankings, Sri Lanka’s Dhananjaya de Silva (228) has leapfrogged his countryman Wanindu Hasaranga (225) to acquire the ninth place among the all-rounders, after taking a significant jump of three places.
Similarly, India’s best fast bowler in recent years, Mohammad Siraj, continued to retain his position in the top three. After a brief period at the top, Siraj is currently at the second spot ( 691), just 14 points away from the Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood. The right-arm seamer leads the chart with 705 points.
India captain Rohit Sharma is the top-ranked batter from his side. He is at the eleventh place, while Virat Kohli sits only two spots behind his skipper.
West Indies batter Brandon King’s stunning knocks against UAE moved him up 29 places in the batting rankings, while Keemo Paul has marked his return with a 17-spot jump in the bowling rankings. Odean Smith and Yannic Cariah have also seen jumps of 14 and 39 spots, respectively.
