The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially disclosed a revised schedule for the U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024, confirming South Africa as the new host nation for the prestigious tournament. The decision to relocate the event from Sri Lanka was made by the apex cricket board in November, and Monday’s announcement outlines the details of the 15th edition of this celebrated cricketing spectacle.

Set to transpire from January 19 to February 11, the U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024 will showcase the talents of 16 participating teams across five venues in South Africa. The move marks a significant shift for the tournament, emphasizing the adaptability and resilience of the cricketing community in the face of logistical challenges.

16 participating teams are divided into four groups​


The participating teams have been strategically divided into four groups of four teams each. In Group A, defending champions India will contend with Bangladesh, Ireland and the United States of America (USA). Group B comprises England, South Africa, West Indies, and Scotland. Group C features Australia, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and Namibia, while Group D includes Afghanistan, Pakistan, New Zealand and Nepal.

The tournament will kick off in January with a total of 41 matches, leading up to the grand final scheduled for February 11. This edition of the U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup follows the 2022 tournament held in the West Indies, where India emerged victorious, clinching the title for the fifth time.
