Alex Carey cleaned up by Kuldeep Yadav
During the third and final ODI at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday, Indian left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav bowled a remarkable delivery to dismiss Australian batter Alex Carey. Kuldeep had a great day, returning figures of 3/56 in his 10 overs, and getting rid of David Warner, Marnus Labuschagne and Carey. Watching Kuldeep bowl is always a delight, and he did not disappoint his fans on this occasion.

The delivery that dismissed Carey was a gem of a delivery. It all happened on the first ball of the 39th over. Kuldeep’s delivery was slow in the air, and it turned away sharply after landing, beating the outside edge of the left-hander Carey. The ball crashed into the off-stump, leaving the batter in shock. It was a perfect delivery, and Carey had no chance of surviving it.

Kuldeep has been one of the best spinners in the world in recent years, and his performances in the ODI format have been outstanding. He has a unique ability to deceive the batsmen with his flight and spin, and he has become a key weapon for India in limited-overs cricket. Interestingly, Kuldeep has dismissed Carey five times in ODIs, which is the most by any bowler. Carey, who averages just 12.2 against Kuldeep in ODIs, played a fine knock of 38, which came in 46 balls and included two fours and a six.

Speaking after the end of the Australian innings, Kuldeep said he has been working on the new delivery that pitches in the middle and leg line to the left-handers and spins away.

“I played the India A series here, so I knew the wicket was slow, so I was trying to spin the ball more. Those were important wickets and especially I loved the one against Alex Carey,” said Kuldeep.

“I have been working on it, trying to bowl within the wickets, from there if I can spin the ball, so there is a lot of chance to get caught behind, there is a chance to get top-edge on slog just like David Warner did.

“The way Marsh started, probably thought they would get close to 300 but the way Hardik bowled, he got 3 wickets and got us back in the game,”
he added, lauding Hardik Pandya.
