Emma Lamb’s back injury leads to withdrawal
According to an official report at ECB, England’s preparations for the one-off Test against India have encountered a setback with the withdrawal of Lamb from the squad. The Lancashire cricketer has been forced to return to the UK due to a back issue, and she is set to consult with a spinal surgeon to determine the next course of action.
The new addition to the Test squad
To fill the void left by Lamb, England has included the dynamic batter Maia Bouchier in the Test squad. Bouchier, hailing from Middlesex, is yet to make her Test debut but brings experience from her performances in 3 Women’s One Day Internationals (WODIs) and 22 Women’s T20 Internationals (WT20Is). The Kensington-born cricketer has scored 112 and 205 runs in the respective formats.
English Women A star too joins Test outfit
In another addition to bolster the squad, England has enlisted Kirstie Gordon for the Test series against India. Gordon, who recently represented England Women A in the T20I series against India A, played a crucial role in the visitors securing a 2-1 victory.
