Suryakumar Yadav, the talented middle-order batter for the India cricket team, has recently showcased his exceptional wit and humor as he handled a social media troll in style.

The incident: A laughable moment

The incident that sparked this exchange occurred during India‘s tournament opener against Australia in the ODI World Cup 2023. Cameras captured Yadav in the dugout, savoring some food as he watched the Men in Blue’s run chase. However, when the camera turned towards him, he momentarily paused his meal and shot an unamused look at the lens. This candid moment quickly made its way across social media platforms.

The troll and Surya Kumar Yadav’s response

One particular netizen seized the opportunity to share this viral clip and playfully urged Suryakumar to step onto the field and start hitting fours and sixes.

“Sir dugout mein baithke kya khate rehto ho, ground par jaake do chaar 6 maarke aao. (Sir, why you keep eating while sitting in the dugout, go to the ground and hit two or four sixes.),” the user wrote on X.

In response, the 33-year-old cricketer demonstrated his quick wit. He playfully suggested that the fan should consider placing orders on food delivery apps like Swiggy instead of instructing him on his on-field performance.

“Order mereko nahi Swiggy pe de bhai. (Brother, place the order on Swiggy, not me.)” Surya Kumar responds.

India’s winning streak

Although Suryakumar is yet to make his appearance in the quadrennial event, India have been putting up exceptional performances in the tournament. With three consecutive victories, they have convincingly defeated Australia, Afghanistan and Pakistan while successfully chasing down below-par targets. They will next face Bangladesh on October 19 in Pune.
