In the stunning pictures, shared by Rahul on his Twitter handle, the couple can be seen seen hugging each other cutely. Athiya reshared photographs of herself with Rahul on her Instagram stories. For the party, the actress wore a strapless black corset and blank pants while the cricketer kept it sober and cool in black shirt and trousers.
But as soon as the pictures went viral on social media, the Indian cricket team fans took a shot at Rahul, trolling him for his poor performances in the last couple of games.
The right-handed opener managed scores of 22, 23, 10 and 2 in four innings of the two-match series against Bangladesh and failed miserably in the 2022 T20 World Cup.
Reacting to the same, a Twitter user commented: “Great pics. All the best. Requesting you to continue enjoying your life and retire from Indian cricket so that your spot can be filled by a better player. You can continue with leagues like IPL etc but pls leave Indian cricket alone.”
