The high-octane Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) saw emotions running high long after the game was over. While the pitch did not produce much action, the on and off the field action between players captured attention with tensions flaring and heated verbal exchanges erupting at Ekana Stadium.

One of the most talked about incidents from the match was the altercation between Virat Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq. It all started when Kohli and Naveen got involved in war of words during LSG’s chase. The intense battle was stopped after LSG spinner Amit Mishra and onfield umpires intervened.

However, the spat resumed from where it was left after the conclusion of the game. When players from both sides were shaking hands, Kohli and Naveen again indulged in an altercation before Glenn Maxwell stopped Naveen.

Shortly after the incident, LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir sided with his pacer and instructed his team members not to talk with Kohli. The two parties then engaged in an animated discussion, which quickly turned into another heated exchange. LSG skipper KL Rahul intervened and attempted to calm Kohli down. He even called upon Naveen to resolve the issue, but the Afghanistan pacer didn’t respond positively and left without addressing the situation.

The trio was expectedly punished by IPL for their behavior with Kohli and Gambhir getting slapped with a 100 per cent match fees penalty, while Naveen was fined 50 per cent. Now, Naveen shared a cryptic post and seemingly took a dig at the former RCB skipper, stating “You get what you deserve. That’s how it should be and that’s how it goes.”
