Lucknow Super Giants will face the five-time champions Mumbai Indians in the 63rd Match of IPL 2023 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Tuesday (May 16t). This is the first time both sides will be up against each other in this season.

As far as the previous matches of both the sides are concerned, MI defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) in a close encounter by 27 runs. On the other hand, LSG pulled out a stellar win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) out of the jaws of defeat.

For MI, Surya Kumar Yadav is breathing fire match after match. His ability to score in every corner of the ground may be a big headache for the opposition. As far as LSG are concerned, their players have performed in bits and pieces manner. They have to perform jointly to beat MI.

The Mumbai-based franchise are just a win away from reaching the magic number of 16 in the points table. Meanwhile, LSG can move up to the third position if they register a victory in Tuesday’s game.

Pitch report

It won’t be a surprise if the red leather starts turning from the first ball, as seen in the previously matches held in Lucknow. The pitch at the Ekana have never been batter friendly.

The openers from both sides must take advantage of the power play, as the pitch will soon start deteriorating once the ball gets old.
