Australia cricket star Marcus Stoinis has named three athletes who he wished played cricket. Stoinis revealed his choices in an interview which the Indian Premier League (IPL) released on their official Twitter handle ahead of the Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

In the interview, Stoinis went through a rapid-fire round and talked about various topics such as ‘three favourite food items,’ ‘three people on his speed dial,’ ‘three things that annoy him in cricket’, etc. Among all those questions, the 33-year-old was also asked about the three sports personalities that he wished played cricket. Stoinis didn’t take long to reply and named Basketball legend Michael Jordan, great golfer Tiger Woods, and legendary boxer Muhammad Ali as his choices.

Notably, LSG bought Stoinis for a whopping Rs 9.2 crores in 2022 and retained him for the 16th edition of the IPL that is currently underway. However, the Aussie all-rounder hasn’t left any mark in the three matches he played for the Lucknow-based franchise in the 2023 season of the league so far.

Regarding the match against SRH, LSG emerged victorious by five wickets in the game courtesy of Krunal Pandya’s all-round performance. Krunal bagged three wickets for his team and also played a handy knock of 34 runs. Meanwhile, Stoinis remained unbeaten on ten runs for Lucknow in the contest.

The win resulted in LSG moving to the top of the points table with two wins and a loss. The only defeat the Lucknow-based team suffered came against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the sixth match of the IPL 2023.

Stoinis is next expected to be seen in action on Monday (April 10) when LSG faces Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in their fourth match of the ongoing tournament.
