MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli
MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli are not just two of the most loved cricketers in the world but also the best of friends. The duo is often acknowledged by fans as ‘Mahirat’ due to their special bonding. Virat has time and time again expressed his respect for the former India captain and hailed him as his biggest support system in the cricketing fraternity. Meanwhile, Dhoni has also never shied away from praising the 34-year-old cricketer publicly.

Something similar was seen recently in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, where Dhoni was heard citing Virat’s example to his teammates in the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) locker room. The event is said to have taken place after the Chennai-based team registered a victory over Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Chepauk Stadium on Saturday (May 6). The video of the same has gone viral on the internet and garnered huge attention. Popular commentator Aakash Chopra also left a note in the video’s comment section.

In the clip, Dhoni can be heard saying: “Virat doesn’t play the first ball like this. It is always here.”

Here’s the video:

Notably, Virat has been in great form in the IPL 2023 and has slammed six fifties in ten matches. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter played his last game against Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on the same day when Dhoni-led CSK defeated MI. However, despite Virat’s impressive 55-run knock in the contest, RCB lost by seven wickets.

As far as the performance of CSK and RCB in the ongoing tournament are concerned, while Dhoni’s team sit at the second spot in the points tally, Virat’s RCB are on the fifth spot.

Speaking of their upcoming matches, Virat will next be seen in action when his team faces MI at the iconic Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday (May 9), whereas CSK’s next fixture is at home against DC on Wednesday (May 10).
