Notably, Archer played 5 matches for Mumbai in the current edition of the cash-rich league in which he took only 2 wickets at a terrible strike rate of 60 and economy of 9.50. Not to mention, England’s star pacer was roped in for a whopping INR 8 crore by MI during the IPL 2022 mega auction.
The Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai have now acquired the services of another English all-rounder Chris Jordan as a replacement for Archer. Jordan, who has already played for a few franchises in the cash-rich league, brings ample experience and sharp skills to the table.
For the unversed, Jordan, who made his IPL debut in 2016, has so far played 28 matches and taken 27 wickets, with 4/11 being his best performance. When it comes to overall T20s, the Barbados-born cricketer has picked up 315 wickets in 302 games with 5 four-wicket hauls.
“Mumbai Indians (MI) on Tuesday named Chris Jordan as a replacement for the injured Jofra Archer remainder of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Jordan, who made his IPL debut in 2016, has so far played 28 IPL matches and has 27 wickets against his name. The speedster has represented England in 87 T20Is and has scalped 96 T20I wickets.
