Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will square off against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 32nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday (April 23). While RCB emerged victorious in their last encounter against Punjab Kings (PBKS), RR were handed over a defeat by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

Faf du Plessis shined for the Bangalore-based team in their previous game as he hammered brilliant 84 runs off 56 balls comprising ten boundaries. Virat Kohli also chipped in with crucial 59 runs and stitched a 137-run opening partnership with Du Plessis. It is noteworthy that Mohammed Siraj bagged four wickets for RCB in the contest as well, giving away just 21 runs in his quota of four overs. Meanwhile, despite a good start from Yashasvi Jaiswal (44) and Jos Buttler (40), RR failed to chase the target set by LSG. Among bowlers, Ravichandran Ashwin picked up two wickets for the Rajasthan-based team in the first innings.

RCB are at the fifth spot of the IPL 2023 points tally and will aim to move up by defeating Rajasthan on April 23. On the other hand, RR sits at the top of the table and will look to maintain their position.

Pitch report:

The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is known for its shorter boundaries and offers a batter-friendly track. The bowlers here struggle and receive very less help from the surface. A high-scoring game is expected to take place at the venue.
