RCB have always been a star-studded side full of so many world cricket icons. Despite that, the closest they have come to winning the title was in 2016 when they lost to David Warner-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the summit clash.
In the forthcoming season, RCB would be looking to script history as they have done a good job at the IPL 2023 mini-auction, acquiring some notable overseas cricketers along with high-quality Indian talents. Regarding how RCB looks like for the 16th edition, former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar came up with a detailed analysis of the team and listed out his 4 overseas picks for the upcoming season.
In a video shared by Star Sports India, Manjrekar named his four overseas players of RCB by picking captain Faf du Plessis as the first choice. He then went with Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell and Sri Lankan ace spinner Wanindu Hasaranga. For the last choice, Manjrekar went with Aussie pacer Josh Hazlewood before mentioning that if Hazlewood remains unfit, then he will go with England’s fast bowler Reece Topley.
“This is easy; Faf du Plessis will be their (RCB) captain, so he will be the first choice. Glenn Maxwell is second, and Wanindu Hasaranga will be third as he is a game-changer. Josh Hazlewood will be in the starting line-up for the fourth foreign player. However, in case of his (Hazlewood’s) fitness issue, then Reece Topley will be the fourth overseas cricketer,” said Manjrekar.
