Cricket is a sport that is deeply ingrained in the blood and bones of every Indian. The people of India celebrate the game like a festival and rarely miss a chance to witness it. Recently, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season commenced at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad, with the first match between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The tournament opener was attended by a huge crowd and was also graced by many celebrities.

After the match, a fan of Shubman Gill shared his experience of purchasing an Rs. 20,000 premium suite ticket to witness the grand opening ceremony and the exciting match between GT and CSK. Notably, the opening ceremony of the IPL 2023 season was a grand affair as it featured the iconic return of sports broadcaster Mandira Bedi, as well as performances by popular singers Arijit Singh and actress Tamanna Bhatia. The captains of the teams entered the stage on chariots, and the drones created the images of a bowler and a batter hitting the ball to form the iconic IPL logo.

The fan of Gill posted a video of him experiencing the VIP treatment on Instagram and captioned it: “20,000 Rs Premium Suites Ticket experience GT vs CSK match.”

The Instagram user’s video showed him driving an electric car to the premium lounge and later enjoying the light show organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) using drones. In the clip, the lounge can be seen filled with flags and merchandise like pillows, and banners of the Gujarat IPL team. The post has garnered over 10 lakh likes and is still doing rounds on the internet.

GT opener Gill even commented on the fan’s video, joking about the electric vehicle that dropped him to the lounge and wrote: “Sahi hai bhai. Hame toh chal kar jana padta hai (Great brother! We have to walk to reach the ground instead.”
