DC beat GT in IPL 2023
In a closely contested match between the Gujarat Titans (GT) and the Delhi Capitals (DC), the Capitals emerged victorious by five runs. The match, which took place at the Narendra Modi Stadium, was the 44th match of the Indian Premier League 2023.

After winning the toss, the Delhi Capitals elected to bat first. However, they got off to a disastrous start, losing both their openers for just two runs. The middle order failed to get going, but Axar Patel and Aman Hakim Khan steadied the ship with a 58-run partnership for the sixth wicket. Aman played a brilliant knock of 51 runs off 44 balls, which helped Delhi Capitals reach a total of 130/8 in their 20 overs.

The Gujarat Titans started their innings poorly, losing their opener Wriddhiman Saha for a duck. Shubman Gill and Vijay Shankar also failed to make an impact, leaving the Titans struggling at 27/3. However, Hardik Pandya played a brilliant innings of 59 runs off 53 balls, which gave the Titans hope of victory. But with the required run rate increasing, the Titans lost wickets at regular intervals and fell short of the target by just five runs. Abhinav Manohar top-scored for the Titans with 26 runs off 33 balls.

For Delhi Capitals, Khaleel Ahmed and Ishant Sharma picked up two wickets each, while Anrich Nortje and Kuldeep Yadav picked up one wicket each. Axar bowled a tight spell, conceding just 24 runs in his four overs. Mohammed Shami was the standout bowler for Gujarat, picking up four wickets for just 11 runs in his four overs. Mohit Sharma also bagged two wickets, while Rashid Khan picked up one wicket.

What a comeback story for Ishant Sharma.

Out of the Indian team, work hard in his fitness through domestics, coming back to IPL, didn't start the season & then defended 12 runs against Gujarat.

Ishant Sharma deserves everything. pic.twitter.com/mJyELHQwpC

Ishant Sharma deserves every bit of appreciation tonight.

The only the 2nd bowler in history after Daniel Sams to defend a total against GT in the last over. pic.twitter.com/cf77LEHC9m
