It happened in the ninth over of the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) innings when Mishra delivered a full ball just outside off stump. Anmolpreet advanced down the track, intending to guide the ball towards long on, but instead ended up with a leading edge that carried back to the bowler, resulting in a catch. The SRH opener had to depart after scoring 36 runs off 27 deliveries, which included seven boundaries.
Following the dismissal, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) spinner banged the ball on the floor and gave a death stare to the young SRH batsman, perhaps expressing his dominance and displaying his competitive spirit.

Meanwhile, it was not an ideal outing for Mishra as he leaked 40 runs in his quota of four overs.
After the game, where LSG registered a seven-wicket victory, BCCI took strict action against Mishra. The BCCI reprimanded the veteran spinner for breaching the IPL’s Code of Conduct.
“Mr Mishra admitted to level 1 offence under Article 2.2 of IPL’s Code of Conduct which states abuse of equipment during the match. Mr Mishra accepted the sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding,” said BCCI in their official statement.
Article 2.2 includes any action(s) outside the course of normal cricket actions, such as hitting or kicking the wickets and any action(s) which deliberately (i.e. intentionally), recklessly or negligently (in either case even if accidental) results in damage to the advertising boards, boundary fences, dressing room doors, mirrors, windows and other fixtures and fittings.
