Ravindra Jadeja takes a stunner
Mumbai Indians (MI) took on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the high-voltage clash at Wankhede Stadium on Saturday. In the ‘El Clasico’ of the cash-rich league, MS Dhoni-led CSK emerged victorious after defeating the hosts’ MI by 7 wickets.

During the exciting Indian Premier League (IPL) contest, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja demonstrated why he is widely considered the best fielder in world cricket. Jadeja took a stunning catch off his own bowling to dismiss explosive batter and MI’s latest recruit Cameron Green.

It all happened in the 9th over of Mumbai’s innings, when Green attempted to hit the ball straight past Jadeja. It was a decent hit, but Jaddu displayed remarkable reflexes by preventing the ball from going over him and successfully grabbing the catch.

Speaking about the match, CSK restricted MI at 157/8 after winning the toss and electing to bowl first. Jadeja was the pick of the bowler for the tourists, taking three wickets for 20 in his quota of 4 overs. Apart from Jadeja, Mitchell Santner and Tushar Deshpande also bagged two scalps each. For the Rohit Sharma-led MI, Ishan Kishan (32) and Tim David (31) were the top run-scorers.

In response, the Super Kings went off to a flyer, courtesy of Ajinkya Rahane’s whirlwind knock. The visiting side did lose Devon Conway for a 4-ball duck, but Rahane kept MI out of the picture with his attacking batting. The veteran cricketer ended up smashing 61 from just 27 deliveries, including 7 fours and 3 sixes. Opener Ruturaj Gaikwad remained unbeaten on 40 as CKS gunned down the target in 18.1 overs with seven wickets in hand.

“When we were bowling, the odd ball was turning. So me and Mitch wanted to bowl in good areas because they have so many powerhitters. Everytime we come here, the wicket plays different – sometimes it is flat, sometimes it is sticky. (On partnership with Santner) We surely discuss, whoever starts advises the other person on what lengths to bowl. We keep talking and advising each other,” said Jadeja after the match.
