Sanju Samson takes a stunner
Sanju Samson, the captain of the Rajasthan Royals (RR), demonstrated his exceptional wicket-keeping skills during their match against the Delhi Capitals (DC) at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Saturday.

Samson plucked a remarkable catch to dismiss DC opener Prithvi Shaw by diving towards his right. It all happened on the third ball of the opening over when Prithvi was tempted by Trent Boult’s outswing delivery. The batter attempted a flick shot towards mid-on but ended up getting a thick edge, which Samson anticipated perfectly behind the stumps.

The RR skipper dived to his right in front of the first slip and ended up taking a spectacular catch. Boult added to the Capitals’ misery by claiming the wicket of Manish Pandey on the very next delivery, completing a double-wicket maiden and putting Rajasthan in the driver’s seat right from the word go during DC’s chase.

Earlier, the Royals got off to a blazing start with an impressive 98-run opening stand between Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Jaiswal was the aggressor in this partnership, smashing a quickfire 60 off just 31 deliveries, while Buttler played an anchor role during the powerplay overs to keep the scoreboard ticking.

Buttler ended up as the top-scorer for RR with a brilliant knock of 79 off 51 balls. However, Rajasthan struggled to maintain momentum during the middle overs. Shimron Hetmyer, the big-hitting West Indies batter, came to the rescue and helped Rajasthan post a big total of 199/4 in their allotted 20 overs. Hetmyer scored 39 off just 21 balls, including 4 sixes and a solitary four.
