Wriddhiman Saha takes a blinder
Some excellent bowling and fielding were on display in the ongoing high-voltage contest of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad,

The decision of Delhi to bat first after winning the toss did not work in their favour, as GT bowlers sent shockwaves to the DC camp with wickets in quick succession. Wriddhiman Saha, the seasoned wicketkeeper, showcased his age-defying skills by taking an exceptional diving catch to dismiss Manish Pandey.

It all happened in the 5th over of DC innings when Mohammed Shami came up with a peach of a delivery that moved away at the last moment and outsmarted Pandey. The upright seam was the key factor behind Shami’s success, as Pandey went for a drive but ended up managing a thick outside edge. The white leather flew quickly towards the first slip, where Saha showed his sharp wicketkeeping skills and dived to his right to take a sensational catch.

Shami didn’t just stop there, as five balls later in the same over, he got rid of Priyam Garg to take his fourth wicket of the game. The right-arm pacer went for a full and swinging away delivery just outside off channel. Priyam also tried to drive the delivery through the covers only to give Saha another catch behind the stumps.

Shami returned with tremendous figures, picking up four scalps while conceding only 11 runs in his quota of 4 overs. Despite losing five wickets for 23, the Capitals managed to reach 130/8 in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to a crucial contribution from Aman Khan, who smashed a brilliant half-century.

Aman scored 51 runs from 44 balls, with the help of three fours and as many sixes. Apart from Aman, Axar Patel and Ripal Patel also shined with the bat, scoring 27 and 23 runs, respectively.
