Jasprit Bumrah’s Masterclass Stifles RCB’s Hopes
RCB, after losing the toss and being put in to bat by MI skipper Hardik Pandya, had a poor start as Kohli departed for just 3 (9). However, Faf du Plessis, Rajat Patidar and the ever-reliable Dinesh Karthik chipped in with well-made fifties. But their hopes of a big total were dashed by a fiery spell from Jasprit Bumrah. The yorker king unleashed his lethal arsenal, picking up a five-wicket haul and restricting RCB to 196/8.
MI Batters Put on a Clinical Display
In stark contrast, MI’s chase was a masterclass in ruthless batting. Top-order batters Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav tore into the RCB bowling attack.
Kishan, known for his explosive strokeplay, smashed a blistering 69 off just 34 deliveries. Suryakumar, the Indian version Mr. 360, was equally destructive, scoring a rapid-fire 52 off a mere 19 balls. The duo completely dismantled RCB’s bowling plans, leaving their bowlers with little to defend.
Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma finished the job with ease, guiding MI to a comfortable seven-wicket victory over RCB with a staggering 27 balls to spare.
