Boris Johnson clashed with the Speaker, Sir Lindsay Hoyle, in an ill-tempered Prime Minister’s Questions.

The prime minister received a stern telling off from the Speaker on more than one occasion, for trying to question Starmer over his involvement with Mishcon de Raya.

After failing to listen to Sir Lindsay’s first warnings, the speaker became irate, telling the prime minister: “Sit down… you may be the prime minister of this country, but in this House, I’m in charge”.

The Speaker also chastised the House over its boisterous mood, warning MPs across both benches: “I don’t think this has done this House any good today”.
