Kim Leadbeater was sworn in as the new Batley and Spen MP in the House of Commons this afternoon.
Labour held onto the seat in a closely fought contest, with Leadbeater beating the Conservative challenger Ryan Stephenson by just 323 votes in Thursday’s byelection.
Leadbeater said she was “delighted the people of Batley and Spen have rejected division and they have voted for hope.”
