In the ongoing Legends League Cricket (LLC), India Maharajas have been dealt a second consecutive defeat, similar to their first game, despite Gautam Gambhir’s half-century. The middle-order’s failure to perform left them unable to complete the chase against the World Giants. Aussie pacer Brett Lee played a pivotal role in the final over, limiting the Maharajas to just two runs short of their target.

The World Giants had set a target of 167 runs, with Aaron Finch and Shane Watson both hitting half-centuries. The Indian attack struggled initially against the aggressive batting of Finch and Watson. However, Harbhajan Singh and Praveen Tambe’s impressive bowling brought the Maharajas back into the game. Finch scored a quickfire 53 off 31 balls, while Watson smashed 55 off 32 balls. Harbhajan took four wickets, conceding just 13 runs, while Tambe picked up two wickets for 17 runs.

Despite the excellent performance by Harbhajan and Tambe, the Maharajas were unable to win the match. Gambhir’s solid start and the top order’s efforts were undermined by the middle-order’s inability to perform, leaving the team to fall short of the target once again. Lee’s impressive last over was the final blow to the Maharajas’ chances.

Brief Score: World Giants 166 for 8 (Shane Watson 55, Aaron Finch 53, Harbhajan Singh 4-13) beat India Maharajas 164 for 5 (Gautam Gambhir 68, Robin Uthappa 29, Ricardo Powell 2-16) by two runs.
