Put into bat, UAE struggled to find their momentum as they lost wickets at regular intervals and were eventually bowled out for a below-par score of 117 in 33.1 overs. Asif Khan top-scored for UAE with a patient knock of 46 runs off 54 balls, while Lalit Rajbanshi was the pick of the bowlers for Nepal with excellent figures of 4 wickets for just 14 runs in 7.1 overs.

In response, Nepal got off to a shaky start losing two quick wickets, but Gulshan Kumar Jha held his nerve to play a match-winning knock of 67 runs off 84 balls, which included 3 fours and 6 sixes. Bhim Sharki provided the necessary support to Jha with a patient knock of 36 runs off 72 balls. UAE bowlers tried their best to make a comeback into the match, but Nepal reached the target of 118 in 30.3 overs with 7 wickets in hand.

Nepal have booked the last spot in the Group A of Asia Cup alongside giants India and Pakistan.
