Senior Indian batters Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane have continued their bad patch after they came to bat on Day 3 of the ongoing third and final Test against South Africa at Newlands in Cape Town.

Both Pujara and Rahane were dismissed at cheap scores by Marco Jansen and Kagiso Rabada, respectively. Pujara, who played well in the last hour of the play on Day 2, was the first wicket to fall early morning of Day 3 for just 9.

Jansen bowled the short delivery targeting the hips of Pujara, who clipped it uppishly behind the wickets. But Keegan Petersen showed his acrobatic skills and plucked a stunning catch to pack Pujara’s innings.

Soon, Rahane also followed his teammate, losing his prized wicket against a jaffa bowled by Rabada. The delivery rose awkwardly from a good length, kissed his gloves and flew to the keeper.

However, Kyle Verreynne deflected the ball but captain Dean Elgar, who was positioned at first slip, grabbed the juggler to send back Rahane for 1.

After both the experienced Indian batters lost their wickets, the fans on social media roasted the duo for not scoring runs when their team needed them the most to contribute.

Here is how netizens reacted:
