Former Donald Trump adviser Steve Bannon was found guilty of two counts of contempt of Congress on Friday by a jury that apparently didn’t have to deliberate too hard—the verdict came back in just three hours.
The Bannon verdict came as the media was chewing over the revelations of Thursday night’s Jan. 6 committee hearing, and as the nation continues to get reminders of how extreme Republicans—from Congress to the Supreme Court to state legislatures—are, and of how much damage they’re plotting to do to the country.
