Fans come up with mixed reactions after Virat Kohli
In the 29th match of the ODI World Cup 2023 between India and England, cricket enthusiasts worldwide witnessed an unexpected turn of events that left them in mixed emotions. The match took place at Lucknow’s BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium, and it was marked by the early dismissal of India’s cricket icon, Virat Kohli, who departed without contributing a single run. This abrupt exit became the focal point of discussion across social media platforms, triggering an array of responses from fans.

India’s top order crumbles

After being asked to bat first, India seemed to be making a promising start, with the opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill displaying some exquisite strokes. However, their early momentum suffered a setback when Gill fell victim to England’s Chris Woakes, managing only nine runs. The attention then shifted to India’s batting maestro, Virat. Regrettably, the Delhi-born cricketer also failed to make a significant contribution and was dismissed without opening his account after facing nine deliveries.

Virat Kohli departs for a duck off David Willey’s delivery

Virat’s wicket fell to a delivery from David Willey as he attempted to take on a shortened-length ball by using his feet. However, he found himself out of position to execute the shot he intended, leading to a mis-hit that sent the ball into the hands of mid-off, where Ben Stokes accepted the catch with delight.

India’s third wicket also soon fell after Virat’s dismissal as Shreyas Iyer was sent packing by Mark Wood, which further pushed India on the back foot.

Pakistanis are crying over Virat Kohli's duck! Just a gentle reminder to the Pakistan team that they're already out of the World Cup and on their way back to Karachi in advance. No need for the tears! #INDvENG pic.twitter.com/KrLEFcmTpT
