ODI World Cup 2023: New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson shares his confident thoughts ahead of semifinal clash against India
The stage is set for an intense showdown in the first semi-final of the ODI World Cup 2023, where cricket powerhouses India and New Zealand will clash at the iconic Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday, November 15.

India, displaying their dominance in the tournament, have marched into the semi-finals unbeaten, showcasing a remarkable performance in the league stage. On the other hand, New Zealand secured the fourth spot on the points table, clinching victories in five out of their nine league-stage fixtures.

Notably, the encounter holds a special significance as it revives memories of the 2019 ODI World Cup, where the Kiwis emerged victorious in a high-stakes semi-final showdown against the Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led side at the Old Trafford cricket ground. The forthcoming battle promises to be a riveting contest, with both teams eager to make their mark on this prestigious cricketing stage.

Ahead of the contest, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson has opened up on all the facets and their approach towards the game.

Williamson acknowledged the formidable challenge posed by the Men in Blue, recognizing their excellent form. The right-handed batter emphasized the unpredictable nature of finals, highlighting that everything resets on the day of the match, conveying a sense of readiness for the tough encounter in the upcoming game.
