As cricket enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the onset of the ODI World Cup 2023, Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan has offered an intriguing glimpse into his preferences among players from the Indian cricket team.

In a sport celebrated for its rivalries, Shadab’s candid revelation of his favorite Indian players has garnered significant attention, adding an element of camaraderie to the excitement surrounding the tournament.

Shadab picks Indian captain Rohit Sharma as his favourite batter​


Shadab, recognized for his formidable skills as an all-rounder, has singled out Indian batting sensation Rohit Sharma as his favourite batter. Expressing his admiration for Rohit’s abilities, Shadab termed the Indian captain as a dangerous batter and reckoned it’s difficult to stop Rohit once he gets set.

“I like Rohit Sharma very much. He is very dangerous once he gets set, and it is very difficult to dismiss him,” said Shadab as quoted by Geo Super TV.

Shadab names Kuldeep Yadav as his favourite bowler​


When it comes to selecting his favourite Indian bowler, Shadab, himself a proficient leg-spinner, revealed his preference for Kuldeep Yadav. Shadab praised Kuldeep’s form and resilience, especially in the face of challenging conditions on flat Indian pitches.

“As far as bowler is concerned, I like Kuldeep [Yadav] since I’m a leg-spinner. He is in good form and bowls well despite flat tracks in India,” said Shadab.

Bowling holds the key​


Shadab also shared his insight into the pivotal factor that could determine success in the ODI World Cup 2023. He emphasized the significance of the bowling department, particularly in the tournament’s Indian conditions. He opined, “In these conditions, it is difficult to stop the flow of runs and take wickets. I think the team that bowls well will win the tournament.”

Notably, Pakistan will begin their World Cup campaign against the Netherlands at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Friday, October 06. Their clash against the hosts India is scheduled for October 14 in Ahmedabad.
