England’s opening batter Philip Salt has rewritten the record books by surpassing the previous record held by Pakistan wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan for the most runs in a bilateral T20I series.

During the recently concluded T20I series against the West Indies, Salt showcased exceptional form, consistently delivering stellar performances with the bat. Though his remarkable run-scoring spree could not guide England to the series triumph but earned him the distinction of breaking Rizwan’s record.

Phil Salt’s record-breaking performance:

In a series that witnessed high-octane clashes between England and West Indies, Salt’s ability to consistently find gaps and play aggressive strokes set him apart. His knocks were marked by precision, power and a wide array of shots that kept the opposition bowlers on their toes.

The English opener’s remarkable scores of 40, 25, 109*, 119 and 38 not only highlights his individual brilliance but also underscores the team’s reliance on his contributions at the top of the order. His ability to anchor the innings and accelerate when required proved to be a crucial factor in England’s comeback during the five-match series.

After being down 2-0, England fought back to level the T20I leg, before eventually losing the decider by 4 wickets on Thursday, December 21.

For showcasing his brilliant batting display, Salt was adjudged the ‘Player of the Series.’
