The inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) came to an end on Sunday (March 26) as Mumbai Indians (MI) emerged out to be the champions of the tournament. With curtains falling on an absolutely thrilling edition, the overseas players have started leaving for their countries as well.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star Ellyse Perry was also among those who packed her bags to return to her nation. However, fan favourite Perry shared a heartwarming message about her time in India during WPL 2023 before leaving.

The Aussie all-rounder took to Instagram and thanked the Bangalore-based franchise for memories in India. What fans seemed to like most about Perry’s message was the ‘Dhanyavaad’ at the end of her note.

“So many experiences and memories jammed in to a such a short period of time! Thanks @royalchallengersbangalore for the chance to be apart of it all. Dhanyavaad,” posted Perry along with her pictures.

Speaking on RCB Bold Diaries, Perry had earlier opened up about her Indian excursion and revealed that she had visited most parts of India.

“I have not travelled the country individually but obviously due to cricket, I have done most part of India. I have done bits and pieces of saying things when you do get the chance but yeah, I have never been touristy in India,” said Perry.

Notably, RCB bought Perry for a whopping 1.7 crore in the WPL 2023 players’ auction, and the Aussie cricketer didn’t disappoint as she scored 253 runs and picked up four wickets in the tournament. However, her team finished fourth in the points table and couldn’t qualify for the playoffs.

Not just with the bat and ball, Perry had a great time off the field as well. The Aussie cricketer’s Holi celebration was the talk of the town during WPL, and she herself expressed her joy by sharing pictures of the same on social media.
