Former India skipper Virat Kohli showed glimpses of his good form in the recently concluded first ODI against South Africa as he smashed a brilliant half-century. No wonder the fans were expecting high from Kohli in the ongoing second ODI at Boland Park in Paarl.

But the former India skipper was dismissed for a five-ball duck, which was his 14th in the format. It all happened in the 13th over when Keshav Maharaj tossed the ball up, and Kohli went for a cover drive. The ball stopped on to the batter, and he couldn’t keep it down to give an easy catch to the Proteas captain Temba Bavuma.

With this nought, Kohli entered the embarrassing list of most ducks for India in ODIs while batting at No. 1-7 position. This list has players like Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Suresh Raina.
