New Zealand beat Pakistan in 4th T20I
New Zealand thrashed Pakistan in the fourth game of the ongoing T20I Tri-Series 2022 at Hagley Oval in Christchurch on Tuesday.

Batting first, the Men in Green were restricted to 130/7 in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to disciplined bowling by the Black Caps. Tim Southee (2/31), Mitchell Santner (2/27) and Michael Bracewell (2/11) all picked up two wickets each, while Ish Sodhi bagged one scalp for 23 in 4 overs.

Valuable contributions down the order from Iftikhar Ahmed and Asif Ali pushed Pakistan towards 130. Ifthikhar smashed 27 with the help of three boundaries, while Asif remained unbeaten for 25 from 20 deliveries, including three fours.

In response, the hosts gunned down the target in 16.1 overs with nine wickets in hand. Finn Allen and Devon Conway dominated the proceedings as they added 117 runs for the opening wicket.

Allen smashed a brilliant 62 from 42 deliveries, including one four and 6 sixes. Conway also chipped in with an unbeaten 49, with the help of five boundaries, to help New Zealand beat Pakistan and acquire the top spot in the points table.

The choice of bowlers used initially can be discussed but nothing explains a 130/7 without a single 6 in a T20. #NZvPAK

Great to see Finn Allen excelling for New Zealand: he gives their team a whole new dimension. Picking him over Martin Guptill feels like both the bold call and the right one

A proper Finn Allen show at Christchurch.

He smashed 62 runs from 42 balls including 1 four & 6 sixes when everyone struggled to find quick runs – Kiwi gun. pic.twitter.com/FYiFyKvITN

Only got to see half of his inning, but looks as though Finn Allen has driven the stake through Martin Guptills t20i career there.
