Chasing the paltry target of 262, Pakistan never really got the right momentum and kept losing wickets at regular intervals to get bundled out for 182 eventually. Captain Babar Azam stood tall but couldn’t get enough support from the rest of batters.
Babar made 79 from 114 balls to remain the highest run-scorer for the Men in Green. Mohammad Rizwan, with 28 off 50, was the second top scorer in Pakistan’s innings. Tim Southee (2/33) and Ish Sodhi (2/38) bagged two wickets each for New Zealand.
Earlier, Devon Conway and Kane Williamson shined with the bat to propel New Zealand to a competitive total. Conway smashed yet another century of his ODI career and formed an important stand with captain Williamson after the hosts lost Finn Allen in the opening over.
The duo went on to add 181 runs for the second wicket as the visitors looked in complete control to post a big total. However, Naseem Shah removed Conway for a well-made 101 to trigger a collapse. Soon Williamson was also dismissed for 85 as the Black Caps got all out for 261 in 49.5 overs.
Naseem was yet again the pick of the bowler for Pakistan, talking a three-wicket haul while conceding 58 runs in 8.5 overs. Mohammad Nawaz was, however, the wrecker in chief with his four scalps for just 38 in 10 overs.

A century for Devon Conway against Pakistan in 92 balls with 13 4's and a 6. Meanwhile Rahane saab also missed out on a double century by 9 runs. Scored 191 in 302 balls against Assam. All our batsmen seems to be in right form in the wrong format. We still move though. pic.twitter.com/XRnOWmf89Y
