Australia beat England in Adelaide Test
Jhye Richardson picked up his maiden five-wicket haul in Test cricket as Australia thrashed England by 275 runs in the second Ashes Test at the Adelaide Oval to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series on Monday.

Richardson claimed 5/42 as England were bundled out for a paltry 192 in the second innings on the final day of the match, chasing 468.

In the final session of play, Richardson removed the last two English battlers, with Jos Buttler getting out hit-wicket after scoring 26 off 207 balls. The young pacer then dismissed his counterpart James Anderson for two and brought an end to England’s second essay.

Brief Scores: Australia 473/9 d (Marnus Labuschagne 103, David Warner 95, Steve Smith 93) & 230/9 d (Travis Head 51, Marnus Labuschagne 51) beat England 236 (Dawid Malan 80, Joe Root 68; M Starc 4-37, Nathan Lyon 3-58) & 192 all out (Chris Woakes 44, Jos Buttler 26; Jhye Richardson 5-42) by 275 runs.

Here’s how Twitter reacted:

Last time England won a Test in Australia, Warner, Kohli, Cummins, Root weren’t Test cricketers, Steve Smith was a lower-order batter, Babar was U19 cricketer, Djokovic hadn’t won Wimbledon, latest iPhone was 4s, Trump was 6 years from Presidency, Game of Thrones wasn’t released.

No Cummins. No Hazelwood. Yet England have been hammered.

And few people had the audacity to question our Test series win in 2018/19.
